What is Karst? Karst is the process of dissolution of primarily carbonate rocks. This includes limestone, marble, dolomite, gypsum and salt. Karst landscapes have sinking streams, sinkholes, caves, springs and many other exotic features. Karst, because of its different chemistry and landscapes, often harbours rare ecosystems, both above and below the surface.   |
